How long does it take to build and ship a custom bat?
We typically ship within 2 weeks for a custom bat.
What is the difference between Pro Grade and Select Grade wood?
Pro Grade and Select Grade wood billets lies in the straightness of the grain and the presence of visual defects. While Pro Grade is the industry standard for professional-level performance and safety, Select Grade is a high-quality alternative typically used for semi-pro and amateur play.
Can I make changes to my order after it's been placed?
Because we move quickly for swift delivery we can not make changes after an order has been placed. If you noticed a mistake immediately after ordering, please contact us right away and we will see if the wood has reached the shop floor yet.
Care & Warranty
Kudu Bats: 30-Day Limited Warranty
How should I store and care for my wood bat?
To keep your bat in peak hitting condition, store it indoors in a climate-controlled room (avoiding garages, sheds, or cars). Extreme temperatures can cause wood to become brittle or lose its structural integrity.
Can I use my bat in cold weather?
Yes, using a wood bat in the cold is actually a smart moveβitβs usually much safer than risking an expensive composite or aluminum bat, which can crack when the temperature drops. While wood isn't indestructible, it handles the chill without the "shatter" risk common in high-end tech bats.
What happens if my bat breaks?
At Kudu Bats, we take immense pride in the durability and elite performance of our wood bats. However, because wood is a natural material, breakage can and will occur. We stand behind our craftsmanship with a 30-day limited warranty to ensure you get the quality you paid for.
Warranty Coverage
Under this limited warranty, Kudu Bats will provide a one-time replacement of your wood bat within thirty (30) days from the date of purchase. This coverage applies specifically to structural cracking resulting from normal field use.
To be eligible, you must be the original purchaser and provide proof of purchase from an authorized Kudu Bats dealer.
To Keep Your Warranty Valid
To stay eligible for a replacement, you must adhere to our hitting and care guidelines. The following actions will automatically void your warranty:
- No Dimpled Balls: Never use your bat with yellow, dimpled batting cage balls. These are denser than leather baseballs and cause unnatural stress on wood fibers.
- Climate Control: Do not store your bat in a car, garage, or any area exposed to extreme heat, cold, or moisture. Wood must be kept in a climate-controlled environment to maintain its integrity.
- No Modifications: Do not sand, shave, or alter the handle or barrel in any way.
